King Day of Service

PLEASE NOTE: This event has been postponed. Chicago Public Schools has been slowly monitoring the forecast and consulting with the various city agencies, including the Office of Emergency Management (OEMC), and have decided to cancel and reschedule all events to be held in their buildings tomorrow, Monday, January 15, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We will reschedule this service day and keep you posted on a new date and time.

Let's honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and keep the Dream alive! Join the University Community Service Center at the 6th Annual King Day of Service, which brings together residents, non-profits, and institutions to support local schools in the community. The service day, which is convened by Organic Oneness and co-created by the UCSC in partnership with community organizations across Bronzeville, Englewood, and beyond, will focus on beautification, outreach, and capacity-building projects at local schools and other community sites.

For those who need it, the UCSC and our campus partners are providing limited transportation service between both the Hyde Park and downtown campuses and the event kick-off location at King High School (4445 S Drexel Blvd.).
