Harper Court Summer Music Series: Harold Green & Flowers for the Living

Flowers for the Living is an artist collective curated by its founder, Harold Green. Green started a YouTube series of love poems in February of 2010. By 2014, the series grew into a blossoming artist collective that came to be known as Flowers for the Living. Flowers for the Living now boasts a nine-piece band, three background singers, a roster of some of Chicago's most dynamic singers, with Green as the front man.

Flowers for the Living released their first full length LP (Bouquet of Beautiful) in 2021, but is primarily known for their unique covers which incorporate Green's original spoken word, making it a novel artistic experience. Flowers for the Living's YouTube covers have gained national and international fanfare and has garnered close to 900,000 views, but there is nothing like seeing the act live.
