The Polsky Center is proud to present the new Entrepreneurship Essentials series. This series is designed to help you launch your startup successfully, with workshops ranging in everything from customer discovery, fundraising, marketing strategy, legal issues, and more.

Join serial entrepreneur Phil Leslie for this session where we “get real” about how early-stage companies think about competitive analysis, especially in a digital/web environment. This session will challenge your thinking about who you are (and aren’t) competing against. It will help you develop strategies to communicate your unique selling proposition to just the right market segment. Warning: you may leave this session concluding that you need to yield certain prospects to your competitors. And that’s ok, because you’ll also develop an appreciation for prospects you have overlooked that should be your biggest focus.

About the speaker:
Phil Leslie, MBA ’09, is cofounder and chief growth officer at Havoc Shield which designs cybersecurity programs built specifically for small businesses. Havoc Shield is a participant in Techstar Chicago’s 2020 Accelerator cohort. Previously, Phil has led two early-stage technology firms to exits in the past decade.
