The Champs Élysées Film Festival US Tour stops at the University of Chicago! Since its inception in 2017, the US Tour of the Champs Élysées Film Festival has brought the “New French Generation” to American audiences, showcasing emerging talents and fresh voices in independent French cinema.
Come discover the Chicago premiere of Myriam El Hajj’s feature-length Diaries from Lebanon, which received the Grand Jury Prize at Champs-Elysées Film Festival, for free on November 20 at 4 pm.
Diaries from Lebanon will be followed by a roundtable featuring:
Perla Joe Maalouli, artist, activisit, and protagonist of the film
Ghenwa Hayek, Associate Professor of Modern Arabic Literature
Justine Lévêque, Artistic Director of the Champs-Elysées Film Festival
Moderated By Etienne Labbouz, Assistant Instruction Professor in French
Both screenings are hosted by Doc Films at the Max Palevsky Theater. This event is free and open to the public.
