Argonne Outloud Lecture Series: Into the Quantum Realm
Argonne National Laboratory invites you to the next installment in the Outloud Lecture Series.
The quantum realm portrayed in the recently released film “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” may be fantastical, but it's no more bizarre than the quantum realm of our own universe. Join Argonne for a two-part dive into the quantum universe:
First, real-life scientists Carol Scarlett and Martin Holt will dig deep into how quantum is represented in film. What’s realistic? What’s fantasy? Will scientists be able to create the scenarios depicted in film?
Second, a quantum quiz show! We’ll invite audience members to the stage to test their skill at separating quantum fact from quantum fiction. Learn all about mind-boggling phenomena such as quantum tunneling, entanglement, and superposition.
This is a hybrid event. You can attend either in person or virtually. Once the limit for in-person attendees has been reached, you are still welcome to attend the event virtually.
NOTE: If you are a not a U.S. citizen and plan to attend in person, please complete this form first and then return to this page to complete your event registration.
