Angelica Marks

Associate Vice President, Real Estate Operations, Commercial Real Estate Operations

In her role as Associate Vice President of Real Estate Operations, Angie oversees the strategic planning, procurement, disposition, and management of all University off-campus and privately developed real estate holdings in the Greater Chicagoland area and around the world.

In her role as Associate Vice President of Real Estate Operations, Angie oversees the strategic planning, procurement, disposition, and management of all University off-campus and privately developed real estate holdings in the Greater Chicagoland area and around the world. For the past 20 years, Angie has worked in real estate and community development, taking on a variety of leadership roles in Chicago's not-for-profit, government, and private sectors. Her central focus has been using real estate to advance both institutional and community priorities — with an emphasis on developing projects, resources, and partnerships to improve the quality of life in South Side communities. 

Angie most recently served as Vice President of Real Estate for Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives, leading large-scale real estate projects that resulted in $250 million of new investment in Pullman, Bronzeville, and Englewood over eight years. She has worked on a variety of projects involving complex financial structures, ranging from large industrial deals to housing, retail, and institutional development.

Angie is a graduate of the University of Illinois with master’s degrees in Urban and Regional Planning and Public Affairs Reporting, and a bachelor’s degree in Journalism. She serves as a board member of two not-for-profit organizations, Community Investment Corporation (CIC), and Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives (CNI). She also serves on the housing task force for Housing Opportunities and Maintenance for the Elderly (HOME). Angie is a member of Lambda Alpha International, a global land economics society.
