Tonya Trice, executive director of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce, has a vision of artisans sparking vibrancy in her South Side neighborhood — and a team of students from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business recently worked with her to help bring that vision to life.
Its first cohort of sixteen included restaurant owners, real estate agents, retailers, chiropractors, and clothing designers, among others.
The study, which finds that 53% of those in shelters have formal employment, is the first in a series of planned reports on homelessness from the Comprehensive Income Dataset Project.
