African Americans are facing not only the disproportionate effects of the coronavirus, but also the deadly pandemic of violence. As Father's Day approaches, Waldo Johnson Jr. of the University of Chicago spoke with WTTW about the burdens that Black men deal with, particularly those pertaining to Black fathers. He discusses "the talk" that many parents give their Black sons and daughters to prepare them to deal with violence, whether from law enforcement or in their communities.
