The Chicago Sun-Times reports on the $9.1 million donation received by the University of Chicago Trauma Center. The grant will support their work responding to people injured or exposed to violence on the South Side. Since launching in May 2018, the Trauma Center has served about 3,000 patients. The grant money will resource programming that offset the cost of child care, provide counseling, and offer other holistic support services to families being served in the Trauma Center.
