University of Chicago professor John Mark Hansen has given his neighborhood a rare and enduring gift: a comprehensive history. "The City in the Garden: A Guide to the History of Hyde Park and Kenwood" was published late last year as part of a series on South SIde history and is on sale at several neighborhood bookstores.
