Chicago Tribune: More kids are on path to aviation careers, thanks to nonprofit AeroStar — with boost from U. of C.’s Accelerator for community programs

Thanks to UChicago's Community Programs Accelerator, Tammera Holmes and her nonprofit, AeroStar Avion Institute, have provided incredible opportunities for young people—especially women—in aviation. With CPA's help, the AeroStar Avion Institute has expanded from serving 90 kids per year in 2018 to almost 1,000 in 2020, transforming from a community organization to a sustainable nonprofit in just a few short years.
