Chicago Tribune: Community leaders meet with incoming U. of C. students to foster civic engagement: ‘There’s no better way to learn about the city than from the people who live and work here.’

As part of freshmen orientation week, University of Chicago first-years were encouraged to learn from and contribute to the South Side through the annual event, “Engage Chicago”. The event offered first-years the possibility to connect with community leaders from South Side organizations and the city and participate in service projects to support them.
