UChicago Library Community Day: Open House and Picnic 2025

The South Side and UChicago communities are invited to come together for our 2nd annual UChicago Library Community Day.

Featured activities offer a rich array of educational experiences for all ages:

• Guided and self-guided tours of the Regenstein and Mansueto libraries. Guided tours will be first come, first serve; 12–1:30 p.m.
• Exhibition tours, self-guided
• Storytime with Carmenita Peoples
• Digital archiving (registration required). Community members are encouraged to bring a few personal mementos, such as photos and letters, to be scanned for digital preservation. Learn about the digital archiving process and receive digital copies of your items to take home. (The Library will not retain copies.)
• Presentations on the work of University community-focused initiatives, Library offerings, and community based organizations.
• Gaming and arts and crafts activities
• Picnic treats and face painting
