The University of Chicago's "My Very Own Library" program will send 8,000 students home with 10 books each this school year, aiming to improve reading scores among CPS students. The program, which was previously only partnered with UChicago charter schools and a few CPS schools, is expanding to include more than a dozen CPS schools and intends to continue this enlargement in coming years.
