Virtual Event: Polsky Center Small Business Bootcamp: Decision Making in Tough Environments
The Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation is pleased to announce the Polsky Center Small Business Bootcamp to provide small business owners and local entrepreneurs with resources during these changing times. This virtual event series will take place during the week of April 13th via the Zoom platform, and sessions will take place in the mornings and afternoons to accommodate a variety of schedules.
This series is made possible through a partnership with the Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation and the Office of Civic Engagement at the University of Chicago, on behalf of a larger coalition of University groups and partners.
About this Session:
In this session, Professor George Wu will utilize his years of research in the areas of negotiation and behavioral decision making to teach entrepreneurs how to evaluate their business decisions in the midst of uncertainty. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.
About the Speaker: George Wu, PhD, John P. and Lillian A. Gould Professor of Behaviorial Science, University of Chicago Booth School of Business
George Wu studies the psychology of decision making; goal-setting and motivation; and cognitive biases in bargaining and negotiation. Additionally, he has received research funding as part of a 3-year, $3.6 million project entitled "Enhancing the Human Experience through Behavioral Science: New Paths to Purpose," to advance the behavioral science of purpose. Wu's research has been published widely in a number of journals in economics, management science, and psychology, including Cognitive Psychology, the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, the Journal of Risk and Uncertainty, Management Science, Psychological Science, and the Quarterly Journal of Economics.
