Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Community Readings 2026

The Martin Marty Center will hold its third annual Community Readings event in celebration of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Day. Students, faculty, and staff along with the broader public are invited to participate in a live, continuous, all-day reading of some of King’s most significant and illuminating texts.

Each registrant will read for 10 minutes and pass the microphone to the next scheduled reader. Whether as a reader or listener, we invite you to experience King’s legacy brought to life by community voices. Texts will be selected and provided by Marty Center staff.
