Entrepreneurship Essentials (E2): Talent Strategy For Founders and Entrepreneurs

One of the most difficult challenges founders and entrepreneurs face when building a business is deciding how and when to grow their team. Whether it’s adding another co-founder, early employee, advisor, or interns, this dilemma is made even more arduous when you find yourself short on both cash and time.

This workshop will provide tools and frameworks to answer the following questions most founders and entrepreneurs eventually face:

  • How do I know what role to hire when my needs constantly shift?
  • How do I ensure I am hiring the right person?
  • How do I think about compensating a new hire when I can barely pay myself?

About the speaker:

Maureen MacDonald is a Principal at IAR Consulting, a Chicago-based executive leadership consulting and search firm serving high growth companies across the globe. Prior to joining IAR, Maureen was Director of Customer Success at InContext Solutions (NVC ’09). She graduated from Booth in 2018 with concentrations in Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management, Operations Management, and Behavioral Science. She joined IAR founder (and Booth guest lecturer) Grant Zallis in 2019 to redefine executive search for growing companies, enabling them to attract, hire and retain transformational leaders. At IAR, she leads technology client engagements while managing candidate experience and recruiting operations.

This event is presented in partnership with Chicago Booth EVC.
