Amar Parikh
Assistant Vice President, Chief of Staff


Amar leads operational management of the Office of Civic Engagement.  As a member of the leadership team, he serves as a senior advisor to the Vice President, and he is responsible for the implementation of key initiatives, working with Civic Engagement staff and University and external partners. Amar previously served as vice president for corporate affairs for Ariel Investments, LLC, which included acting as chief aide to the president of Ariel. He serves on the board of BPI, a social justice public interest law and policy center, and the University of Chicago Trust (India). Amar was a 2016 fellow of Leadership Greater Chicago.

He received B.S. degrees in finance and business administration from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
