Families and students, along with members of the Chicago Police and Fire departments and University officials, enjoy a reception honoring the recipients of the Chicago Police and Fire Scholarship Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the Smart Museum.

The University offers full-tuition scholarships to select admitted children of active Chicago firefighters and police officers. Students whose parent lost his or her life in the line of duty are also eligible to apply.

In honor of the Chicago Fire and Police Departments’ service to the University community and the city, the University of Chicago has offered merit-based, full-tuition scholarships for more than 30 years to select admitted children of active, sworn Chicago firefighters and police officers. Students whose parent lost his or her life in the line of duty are also eligible to apply. Recipients are chosen by a selection committee that includes members of the Office of Civic Engagement and College Admissions.
