The University of Chicago is one of the world’s leading universities and research institutions, with more than 2,200 faculty and academic personnel and students from 50 U.S. states and 70 countries. We operate a major medical center; the nation’s largest academic press; two national laboratories (Argonne and Fermilab); the nursery through 12th-grade Laboratory Schools; and four charter school campuses on the South Side of Chicago. We communicate and collaborate with government officials on a range of topics, from University programming that serves our local communities to faculty research that can help shape national policy.

The Office of Civic Engagement leads the University’s government relations work through the Office of Federal Relations and regular engagement with state and local government officials.
