Xavier Ramey
Senior Assistant Director for Social Innovation & Philanthropy, University Community Service Center


Xavier joined UChicago in September 2014, and oversees the programs of Chicago Bound, Service Match, and Summer Links, and partner development for the community-based Federal Work-Study program. He is responsible for initiatives that teach students about complex social justice issues, as well as how to start up, develop, and sustain organizations that address social justice issues by drawing on the expertise found in nonprofits, philanthropic institutions, businesses, and government agencies. Most recently, Xavier worked as the Senior Program Manager for Community Investments at the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago, as a consultant in Ethiopia and Kenya, and as Director of Development at Young Men’s Educational Network in the North Lawndale community of Chicago. Xavier received his Bachelor’s in Economics from DePaul University.
